Catherine Whittle is the UK Sales Director at Agent Local, overseeing all business sales activity nationwide across both the SME and corporate sectors. With over 27 years of experience in buying, building, and selling businesses, Catherine is one of the most accomplished professionals in the UK’s business sales market. Throughout her career, she has led major acquisition strategies for some of Europe’s largest brands, spearheading multi-million-pound deals across a variety of industries including retail, manufacturing, and professional services. Her ability to navigate complex transactions has made her a trusted figure for business owners, private equity firms, and corporate buyers alike. An entrepreneur at heart, Catherine has built and exited multiple successful ventures, giving her invaluable insight into the challenges faced by sellers at every stage. Now at Agent Local, she leads a team of 77 staff nationwide, ensuring every client benefits from expert guidance, commercial acumen, and a personalised approach to selling their business.

Michelle Lee is the Operations Director at Agent Local, where she oversees the day-to-day execution of business sales across the UK, ensuring every client receives a seamless, high-quality experience from instruction to completion. With a background in business management and operational strategy, Michelle has been instrumental in refining Agent Local’s internal systems and client journey. Before joining Agent Local, Michelle held senior leadership roles in several privately-owned enterprises, where she specialised in streamlining operations, driving efficiency, and scaling service delivery across multi-site businesses. She has also founded and exited multiple ventures, giving her deep, personal insight into the challenges entrepreneurs face when preparing to sell a business. Michelle’s expertise spans a range of industries, including professional services, retail, and logistics. Her hands-on approach, coupled with a sharp commercial mindset, ensures Agent Local consistently delivers results with speed, precision, and care.

William Walton is our SME Sales Director at Agent Local, where he oversees 70+ agent local business executives UK wide and heads up the valuation/sale of small and medium-sized businesses across the UK. With a hands-on, results-driven approach, William plays a key role in helping business owners prepare for sale, attract qualified buyers, and achieve the best possible outcomes. Having personally built and sold four successful companies and helped sell some of the UK's largest brands across 22 years experience, William brings firsthand entrepreneurial insight to every client engagement. He understands the emotional and financial decisions involved in selling a business—and uses that experience to guide others through the process with clarity and confidence. With a background in commercial development and business consultancy, William has worked across a wide range of sectors, including hospitality, trade manufacturing, and retail. At Agent Local, he combines real-world ownership experience with practical sales expertise to ensure every client—no matter the size of their business—receives expert support and a trusted sale.

Thomas Bergström is the Chief Technology Officer at Agent Local, leading the development of innovative digital platforms that power business sales across the UK. With a background in software engineering, data analytics, and product development, Thomas ensures Agent Local stays at the forefront of technology in the business brokerage industry. Originally from Sweden, Thomas has spent the last 15 years designing and scaling tech infrastructure for fast-growth companies in the fintech, proptech, and SaaS sectors. Before joining Agent Local, he served as CTO and technical advisor for several high-growth startups and mid-market businesses, where he built custom CRM systems, automated valuation tools, and data-driven marketplaces. Thomas is passionate about using technology to simplify complex transactions. At Agent Local, he is the architect behind the tools that streamline business valuations, buyer-seller matching, and deal tracking—ensuring clients and agents benefit from speed, transparency, and accuracy at every stage of the sales process.

Rubena Begum is the Chief Finance Officer at Agent Local, responsible for overseeing the financial strategy, governance, and risk management that support the successful sale of businesses across the UK. With a sharp eye for detail and deep experience in corporate finance, Rubena ensures every transaction is underpinned by financial accuracy, compliance, and integrity. Before joining Agent Local, Rubena held senior finance roles at both listed and privately owned companies, where she led financial planning, valuation modelling, and M&A support for complex business sales and acquisitions. Her expertise has been pivotal in structuring deals across sectors including hospitality, healthcare, and technology, and she has advised on exits ranging from local SMEs to large, multi-million-pound enterprises. An entrepreneur herself, Rubena has served as a finance director in several successful ventures, giving her a unique ability to connect with business owners and understand the financial realities of running—and selling—a business.
